Yesterday was trash day and as we all know, CJ loves the trash truck. Which is why he decided to turn my bed into his trash truck, complete with a gigantic pile of floor rugs, trash cans, toys, books, magazines, lamps, scriptures, cordless phones, dog toys, and even an empty bottle of Clorox toilet bowl cleaner (which wasn't quite empty and bleached his shirt and my bedspread). He made me sit by him, put on my seatbelt and pretend like I was the garbage man picking up the cans. That was until he said that my trash was stinky and to get out.

He is getting SO BIG. I also want to comment about your post a few days about about raising boys. I am feeling it w/ Jacob (and he is a full year behind CJ). I remember reading that book when he was about a month old. I need to read it again. I feel like I have met my match. Already.

Another book that I recommend (and I don't know the author right now...) is called Parenting the Strong Willed Child...it is about raising strong willed childen with out breaking their spirt and the special part of their soul that makes them strong an independent. Another one is called Parenting with Love and Logic.

I also have a crib tent that Jacob spends much time in every day. That is the only "punishment" that works for us. I don't know what I would do with out it.........

Thanks for the recommendations. I ordered a great book that I received today and have devoured it. It is called "Raising the Spirited Child" and so far it is RIGHT ON the money as far as CJ is concerned. It has helped me feel a lot less guilt and a lot more positive. I will definately check out your suggestions!

Wait...that is the book I was talking about!! It has been awhile and I was (clearly) guessing at the title.....that is a good one. That is the one that Oh Judy recommended to me. Her second child was, ah, spirited (and now he is the sweetest most mellow kid........).

Time to dig it up again for JJ.

Love & Logic is used at the school where my oldest attends, and to me it's BRILLIANT.
