We just finished canning a year's worth of food storage.

Amen, Jaimers!! I too have food storage, won't know how to cook it if a crisis arose, but I am prepared. MY neighbors know that they will come to me, even if mine is expired!

Wow! SO impressed. So did you can it all yourself or did you just purchase it at the cannery?? Sadly, I know NOTHING about the cannery, I've never been to a wet or dry cannery. I do enjoy myself some potato pearls from the cannery but I know little else.

Good for you to make the splurge, all I've got is 10 boxes of raisin bran and a few extra cans of green beans. So I hope the need for food storage waits just a bit so I can get on the ball.

Isn't it funny how you step back and look at yourself and think, "I can't believe this is me! This is someone else's life." I have those moments often.

You need to teach Janalee and I how to drypack - the kids can run around naked while we work!

Wow! I am impressed! But how did you get so much stuff from the cannery? Did they finally get their stuff back in stock? A few months ago you had to be there when the truck unloaded in order to get anything...or are you one of those people that stalked the cannery on Thursdays at 9am? I thought about it, but then I just hit the snooze button again...

WOW. That is some impressive food storage. I have been on a food storage kick lately too (must be b/c we finally have place for it).

I don't have a wheat grinder b/c I stink at bread, but still, there is more I can do..

Also, I loved "recycle the clown" a few posts down. He is AWESOME...

P.S. We are still negotiating 4th in Park City.. I'll keep you posted, but we should TOTALLY meet...

Cute buns! I have been feeling the stress of no food storage recently. I mean, honestly, how long have they been telling us to get our food storage in order??? I'm such a loser:)

You know what...you are funny! Reading your posts always stir up a giggle.
You remind me of how un-prepared i am however and need to jump on it...food storage that is! I will just have to stop driving and paying for gas so that i can buy food storage.

Okay, I've just been dying to ask: What exactly does one do with "hard red winter wheat?" I didn't even know there was such a thing! I guess I better get my buns on the food storage ball as well.

Nice! I've never been to the cannery. Our food storage is spaghettios and pretzels, which at least I know my kids will eat...but it's not very frugal or healthy. Where did I hear once (?) that all you need is chocolate and tampons, and then you can just trade everyone else.

Hey, Lu! Do you two know each other???

You would NEVER trade in your designer clothes, Jaimers- I know you- but we are learning to hide it better , right?
